You’ve seen BadBadGrandma… now it’s time to get the back story. I present to you: The Orange Juice Extravaganza.
My Disclaimer is this: I only filmed the FIRST part of this short movie. It was a three person project and we each filmed a different section. If the editing is shaky in the other 2 sections, it’s because the footage wasn’t adequate, but I did the best I could. Keep in mind people, this is from my FRESHMAN year of college. First Video Production class EVER. So don’t be too harsh.
My Macroeconomics professor is sure that the economy will have bounced back by the time the seniors this year graduate. “We have seen the worst, now it’s getting better.”
Okay, great, so I won’t have to fret over finding a job out there. Oh wait, the communications field is still a giant flop, and for that I suppose we blame the internet. So I’m brushing up hard core on my web design and graphic design. I’m GREAT with computers, both Mac and PC (although I firmly stand by my Mac) so landing a job involving computer skills is a no brainer.
In addition to brushing up on those skills, I’m taking on more hours at the office because a new project has arisen. (is that propper grammar? arose? what the hell.. I’ll get to that point in a minute or two).
I’m going to try to pick up more waitressing hours at the restaurant (beacuse believe it or not I make tripple what I make when I’m just hostessing or working the floor as a busser).
I just got another new job as a Video Production Lab Technitian. The pay is not GREAT but it’s better than what I’m making at the job I’ve been loyal to for the past 6 years. So I’ll take it!
And don’t forget, I’m a TA in a Video Production class this semester as well.
Let’s sum up:
TA in Video Production:—Tuesdays and Thursdays
Video Production Lab Tech:–Sunday and Monday
Work at the office: —–Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Work at the Restaurant: — Saturday (plus any waitressing hours available)
Lets not forget my FULL schedule this semester… Classes Monday – Friday.
Oh, and did I mention I just applied for TWO other jobs. One as a photographer and one as a night time office assistant.
To sum things up: I’m spreading myself THIN…
I’ve only been at this hectic schedule for 2 weeks now and I’m feeling it in every possible way. I haven’t been sleeping well at all, I’ve got giant black bags under my eyes no matter how much concealer I put on them. I’m yawning all day and restless all night. I’m starting to get a cold and feeling rather shitty at the moment… also somewhat loopy which would be the reason for any grammatical errors and spelling issues in this post.
I’ve got an MRI in the morning to make sure that the cyst they found in my brain isn’t doing anything funky. I hope it’s not. I hope it’s just an annoying little defect in my brain. I’m concerned, though, because lately I’ve been noticing an invoulentary “wink” happening quite frequently where my left eye closes.
Oh, and did I mention, my Neurologist is moving to Florida. The only neurologist who has taken me seriously on this epileptic journey of mine… is LEAVING me. So hooray for my luck.
I guess if there’s any big new re: my MRI tomorrow, you’ll know about it by October 1st… which is my last appointment with my Neuro before he moves away.

Classes start up again tomorrow. Remember way back when I said I was just itching to get back to school? Yeah, not so much now.
I’m sure I’ll get right back into the swing of things after the first few days but my brain is still back on the beach in North Carolina.
I have to admit I’m looking forward to a few of my classes.. Video Production because I’ll be the TA, and that’s kind of exciting, and also another class in which we’ll be using Graphic Design. Excellent!
The rest of my classes, though, are just classes that I avoided taking my first few years because they’re the same classes that I took in High School. And who wants to go back to High School? Not me.
I’m also trying to find out if I’m eligible for Work Study, because if I am I get paid to be a lab tech in a graduate course in video production. That would be perfect because my class schedule this semester is making it really difficult to get any hours in at work.
Let the insanity begin!
I have been having a mind blowingly amazing day today.
The film premier was phenomenal. The whole event was just amazing.
I filmed the entire thing so there will be proof of just how amazing it actually was : ]
I’m really excited to learn how much money it raised (and believe me I’ll let you know when I find out!)
I’ll also post a link to the film as soon as I get it.
Other than that, I just solidified my course load, and pretty much ensured that I will indeed be graduating in 2010 instead of 2011. I’m pumped.
I’m supposed to be a teaching assistant in a Video Production class next semester if all goes according to plan. Excellent!
And if there are enough enrollments in the 2009 Film Matters summer program, I will be helping teach that too in August.

Plus I’ve been writing more lately. Not much worth sharing but still, I’m getting back into the swing of things.
My wife’s first surgery is today so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. <3
