Help Support These Girls!

24 Nov

Girls Incorporated of Holyoke NEEDS your help.

Last year I made a fund raising film for them. They are fantastic girls and this is a fantastic organization.

They need YOUR help. They have an opportunity to receive $25,000, which they desperately need. All they need to do is be voted to be one of the Chase Community Giving award winners. In order for this to happen, they need votes.

If you have a Facebook account, all you need to do is become a fan of this App (below) and then VOTE for Girls Inc. of Holyoke.

It requires nothing more than a few moments of your time.

The girls and the organization NEED this money.

THANK YOU!

Mind Blowing

16 Apr

I have been having a mind blowingly amazing day today.

The film premier was phenomenal. The whole event was just amazing.

I filmed the entire thing so there will be proof of just how amazing it actually was : ]

I’m really excited to learn how much money it raised (and believe me I’ll let you know when I find out!)

I’ll also post a link to the film as soon as I get it.

Other than that, I just solidified my course load, and pretty much ensured that I will indeed be graduating in 2010 instead of 2011. I’m pumped.

I’m supposed to be a teaching assistant in a Video Production class next semester if all goes according to plan. Excellent!

And if there are enough enrollments in the 2009 Film Matters summer program, I will be helping teach that too in August.

Ahh, mind blowingly amazing I tell you.

Plus I’ve been writing more lately. Not much worth sharing but still, I’m getting back into the swing of things.

My wife’s first surgery is today so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. <3

Smile. Life is good.

Famous

15 Apr

Okay, not ACTUALLY famous, but hey, it’s a start.

I was in the paper yesterday.

It’s not the first time, but it is the first time in a few years.

The article is about the research team  I joined earlier this year. The film we have been working on for the past few months is being shown at a fund raising breakfast tomorrow morning.

The picture (as seen below) is of me filming the girls writing their “Dear World” letters (the theme of the video), and Dr. J holding the clack board. It’s a good picture but I can’t help but laugh at it.

Amazing Day

11 Feb

My Glasses

Today has been (thus far) an amazing day.

I went to my first meeting for a research group I was invited to  join yesterday. We will be making films to raise money for organizations. The project we’re currently working on is for Girls Inc. The previous two films they made raised approximately $400,000.

My first shoot is tomorrow.. I’ll be the camera operator. How exciting! (seriously, this is part of what I want to do with my life)

I guess my Video Production skills will finally start to come in handy!

And, it’s a paid position. Excellent. Not to mention this is an incredible opportunity.. I’d do it for free!

I just can’t tell my idiot doctor because she already thinks I have too many jobs.

Also, it is a BEAUTIFUL day.. I’m laying in a ray of sunshine on my laptop with a nice breeze coming through the open window. Nice weather always makes me feel happy.

And so far only one seizure today.

It’s a good day.
